Why Still Queuing To Pay Bill ?

It still amuses me when I happen to see a queue where people standing there, waiting their turn to pay their bill. Well, for some older generation, I can fully understand after tens of years doing that over and over again, then it's really hard to get around it. But I am talking about some generation X or even younger generation with their ipod still on the line. For me having to surrender your money to pay the bill is already a big ask, but having to queue for most of your lunch break is really unacceptable. So why people still queuing at post office or bank to pay their bill ? I cannot really comprehend except it's due to difficulty to change habit. Other much better alternative rather than queuing in line to pay the bill:
1. Direct debit arrangement to your credit card or account. (Afraid of dispute? Even there is dispute, you need to pay the due first. If there is refund that later) 2. Pay over the internet or online transfer. These days everybody have internet connection isn't it ? Of course you need internet banking facility as well. But no reason not to have this - most banks give the facility free of charge. 3. Have someone to pay it for you over the internet. And pay that someone the cash. well, yes, if you really don't have anything to do and just want to kill the time in the queue...Not me though.... |
